Adams Philharmonic Dresden Classic Timpani combine the timeless sound of vintage Dresden style drums with modern production quality and consistency. Dresden Classic Timpani offer a quick response and tone projection along with a fundamental presence and fullness unlike any other. Hammered copper bowls are supported by a specially designed high strength suspension ring and cast steel struts that decrease the pressure on the frame and help prevent any flex or changes in the shape of the frame or bowl. Adams' Dresden style pedal mechanism features a traditional ratchet and clutch foot-operated design and a patent-pending folded split rocker arm eliminating the need for a transfer bar. This traditional ratchet-style Dresden pedal mechanism provides players a familiar feel of natural head resistance.

Re-engineered from the ground up, Adams Philharmonic Dresden Vintage timpani were painstakingly designed, taking cues from Dresden drums of the 19th and early 20th centuries. These new instruments utilize modern Adams innovations while retaining their unique vintage look and sound. Dresden Vintage Timpani feature a special extra-thin vintage profile with handmade hammered bowls that are finished in a unique etched red-tinted lacquer, creating a striking visual presence within any ensemble. Frame components are lacquered red with hand-detailed gold pin-striping.

Adams Schnellar Amsterdam Series Timpani were painstakingly developed based on the original Schnellar timpani used by the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam for over a century while utilizing modern Adams innovations to optimize the power and complexity of these magnificent instruments. Adams Schnellar Amsterdam Series Timpani feature a unique base with only three legs to enhance the tonal character of its distinct tuning system in which the tension rods and head remain stationary, while the bowl itself moves vertically to change pitch. Special calf heads feature a claw tension system, eliminating the counterhoop, which helps produce the pure tones of the pointed, hammered copper shells. Models are also available with Remo Renaissance heads and counterhoops. Schnellar Timpani come standard with flight cases and a wheeled cart for easy transportation. Schnellar timpani are also available in "Kurbel " or Hand Crank versions without pedal mechanisms by Special Order.
