All Masters Premium drums feature our new "Golden Ratio" air vents for improved low-end response. You can choose from a total of 30 hand-rubbed lacquer and premium covered finishes in your choice of chrome, black chrome, or gold plated drum hardware. All shells are constructed using our exclusive SST Superior Shell Technology manufacturing process. Aluminum OptiMount System:
In our never-ending quest for perfection, we’ve taken our already sleek top-of-the-line OptiMount and made it lighter by changing the body from zinc to premium aluminum, called the OptiMount "A". The new feather-light aluminum body is nearly "invisible" to the drum and allows the shells to vibrate to their maximum potential for significantly improved resonance and sustain.

Golden Ratio Air Vents (pat. pend)
The Golden Ratio has been in used by artists and engineers since at least the Renaissance to create aesthetic proportions in art and architecture. Intrigued by this ratio, R&D asked, "Would it work for sound?" Or more specifically, if the Golden Ratio was applied to the location of air vents, could you hear a difference? To find out, they made several prototype drums with the air vent positioned at 1.618033898 x the depth of the drum. Listening tests in Japan and the US confirmed conclusively that it indeed worked and actually made the sound deeper!
