Pearl Salsa Fire at the Hilton Hotel was a big success! Oskar Cartaya (bass) provided the horms and rhythm section, and some of Pearl Percussion's finest artists completed the group. On congas from the left: Bobby Allende...what looks like the top of a head sitting on a conga is actually el Negro on drum set. Fausto Cuevas, Marc Quinones, Jesus Diaz, and Richie Flores started the show. |

Dear Mr. Davila,
Attached is a group photo of the Kentucky/Orchestra
Percussion Ensemble by the Pearl banner. I would also like to say that it was a pleasure to be in one of your classes, and thank you for exposing us to the world of hand percussion. My experience at BOA would not have been the same without your liveliness, enthusiasm, and wonderful teaching skills.
Sincerely,
Ashley Dizon

4/26/06 Rolando Morales-Matos on Tour with Ron Carter
Here's a note from Rolando talking about his gear and experiences with legendary bassist Ron Carter:
"These were the most exiting playing that I have taken part of in a long time. In Mr. Carter's the music grows constantly, so I had to be on guard at all times. This might sound like at lot of work but to the contrary, it's a pleasure to listen to music that have being created at the spot and pushed to others limits. In the other hand, I have great many instruments that although orthodox to this music, where blended perfectly to the music. Mr. Carter was very specific upon what sound or color he was hearing in his head. I was very lucky to be able to contact Glen and Serge at Pearl Percussion who provided me with the right gear for this project. The list of instruments is large to be listed but few that were a big hit were:1. The new Horacio Cow Bell. They were very in tune with the melodies.2. Ago-Shas were and incredible addition to my set up, allowing me to do two thing at once.3. Ganzeiro and Shakerine also help me be able to be very versatile in terms of being able to do multi tasks.4. The Wind chimes were very nice and easily controlled. To name a few? I really had an incredible experience playing with Mr. Ron Carter.Thank you guys for helping me make this possible" Rolando Morales-Matos
