Olbin Burgos
Olbin started lessons when he was 10. His first teacher was Pedro Hernandez who taught him about reading and the rudiments. By 14 Olbin was playing in contemporary Christian bands, listening to R&B, Soul, Jazz, and Latin music. These styles have influenced his drumming the most. In 1976 his family moved to Puerto Rico, where he lived for three years. During this time he studied at Musi Collage a music academy in Bayamon. In 1979 Olbin moved to Miami and started studying with Louis Rainbow. Then in 1983 he was accepted to the University of Miami.
After several years of on the job training in Los Angeles and Miami, Olbin started working with Jon Secada on the Heart Soul and Voice tour. After this tour he went back to Los Angeles where he got the call to do the David Lee Roth album and tour. By the middle of 1996 he was rehearsing with Gloria Estefan for her Evolution World Tour.
Currently Olbin works with both Jon Secada and Gloria Estefan.
