Luther Rix
Luther Rix, a drummer and composer, was born Feb. 11 1942 in Lansing Michigan. After his music business studies at Indiana University, he did postgraduate studies at The Jordan Conservatory of Music. After graduation he worked as percussionist and timpanist for the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and later for The Winter Consort in New York City. With gigs from Doc Severensen to Bette Midler to Manhatten Transfer, Luther embarked on a career so vast and varied, even a small percentage of his credits would not fit on this page. His constant and relentless work has honored him with a listing in the "Who's Who in Entertainment."
From bands to symphonies to broadway and off-broadway shows, touring and recording, Luther has proven that he can do it all ...and has!
