The Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps, founded in 1940, is the third-oldest junior drum and bugle corps in the nation and is proud to be a founding member of Drum Corps International. The Crusaders’ mission is to provide to its members the finest marching music education available anywhere. Although competitive in nature, the Crusaders see the activity primarily as a learning experience. Emphasis is placed on self-motivation, geared toward individual achievement of common goals. Academy Drum & Bugle Corps

AAPA is a 501(c) 3 non-profit Youth Arts organization founded in 2001. The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps is AAPA’s most capital intensive program. It was first developed in 2002 and debuted in 2004. The Corps surprised many by winning all six of its first competitions in California and Arizona. 116 student musicians spent over 300 hours rehearsing throughout the year, preparing for the intense tour of competitions for the 2005 season. They continued their winning efforts with 12 consecutive victories across Arizona, California and Colorado.

In the 2006 season, the corps grew to 135 members and astonished audiences by continuing their winning ways. The Academy leadership had already decided to take this group to Madison, Wisconsin for the 2006 DCI World Championships. This proved to be a wise decision as they won the Drum Corps International (DCI) Division II Championship and the Spirit of Disney Award. Director Mark Richardson was also named Director of the Year for providing a positive example and inspiring greatness from his students.

Blue Knights

Mark Arnold, Director
Jeff Ausdemore, Percussion Caption Head/ Arranger

Established in 1958, the Blue Knights are celebrating their 42nd year of providing Denver-area youth the opportunity to develop life skills utilizing the vehicle music. What began as a "parade corps" performing strictly in the Denver-Metro area, quickly grew into a nationally respected organization offering opportunities for youth to learn, travel, and grow through excellence in their "sport". Perennial DCI finalists, the Blue Knights are now recognized internationally for their excellence and innovation in the area of musical pageantry.

Heading into the new millennium the Blue Knights organization has expanded its programs. A drum and bugle corps, two performing percussion ensembles, and an "educational out reach" program are all currently part of the Blue Knights programs. In 1999, the Blue Knights #1 percussion ensemble was crowned the WGI Independent World Marching Champion. The long-range vision of the Blue Knights is to continue this expansion to include a far greater number of youth in its programs.

Spirit Drum & Bugle Corps is the Summer performance ensemble of Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama.

Although most of its members are from Alabama and Georgia, the popularity of Spirit has attracted members from all over the United States, Canada, and even Great Britain and Japan. Spirit is open to all young people from age 16 to 21. Members are selected by audition based on musical ability, marching skill, attitude, discipline, dedication, and commitment, and receive college credit for their membership.
