Adams Vibraphone Assembly Instructions -
Voyager and Endurance Field Frames

  1. Raise both Y bars approx. 3 inches using the height adjustment assembly. (Loosen butterfly wing screws, turn handles clockwise to raise or counter clockwise to lower until desired height is achieved. Tighten butterfly wing screws.) See FIG 1 -#1.
    Endurance Field Frame: Make sure to loosen side frame wing screws before raising or lowering Y bar. After adjustment, tighten.
  2. Connect lower cross rails to end pieces. See FIG 1- #2.
  3. Connect the two angle supports. See FIG 1 -#3.
  4. Attach large and small end pieces to Y bars. See FIG 1 -#4.
  5. Insert rails #2 and #3 into end pieces (Rail #1 is closest to player).
  6. Insert resonators into slots. Vibraphone with motor - be sure to insert fan shaft into U slot on small end piece.
  7. Insert rails #1 and #4 into end pieces.
  8. Insert dampening bar spring U bracket into rail screws between Rails #2 and #3. See FIG 2.
  9. Insert and attach dampening bar into end rail supports. See FIG 3 and FIG 4.
  10. Attach pedal by hooking upper pedal rod into eye bolt. See FIG 5. Adjust pedal height with mid point wing screw.
  11. Hold pedal down, apply natural bars. Connect end springs.
  12. Hold pedal down, apply accidental bars. Connect end springs.
  13. Endurance Field Frames: Attach top front accessory rail.
  14. Tighten all wing screws. Similarly, periodically, check wing screws are tight.
  15. Height Adjustment Operation: loosen butterfly wing screw, turn handle clockwise to raise or counter clockwise to lower until desired height is achieved. Tighten butterfly wing screw.
    Endurance Field Frame: Make sure to loosen side wing screws before raising or lowering Y bar. After adjustment, tighten.
  16. Adjusting Damping Spring Tension: Turn clockwise to tighten, counter clockwise to loosen tension. See FIG 6.
  17. Additional Damping Adjustments: Adjusting Rail Height for Bar Dampening: See FIG 3A - adjust rail height, thus bar dampening, by turning end screws on rails #2 and #3. Turn to raise or lower rail end.
  18. Motor Control: 1. On/Off Switch, 2.Fan Speed Control, 3. Push button stops and starts resonator fan in open tube position, 4. Push button stops and starts resonator fan in closed position.
