Roger Schupp - Raising the Roof
Roger Schupp performed Michael Daugherty’s Timpani Concerto “Raise the Roof” at the MidAmerican Center for Contemporary Music's "New Music and Arts Festival" in early October 2006 and recorded the piece the next day. Michael Daugherty was in attendance for rehearsals and the performance. The CD will be on the Albany label.
For the performance, Roger used a combination of Adams Professional Timpani with Hammered Cambered Bowls and Adams Philharmonic Cloyd Duff Timpani. “They performed beautifully, said Roger. Pure tone, easy tuning, nice projection. Everything one could ask for from a set of top-notch timpani.
