Matthew Duvall and 8th Blackbird Open The Midwest Clinic12/16/2008Matthew Duvall of 8th Blackbird opens 2008 Midwest Clinic Matthew Duvall, percussionist of the Grammy Award winning ensemble 8th Blackbird opens the 2008 Midwest Clinic in Chicago IL.

Performing works that exemplify the tight ensemble and harmonic prowess of the unique ensemble, 8th Blackbird performed an hour long concert to an enthusiastic 9 am crowd on the Grand Ballroom main stage at the Chicago Hilton Towers. The program was lively and far from sleepy during this early morning slot as the audience witnessed works that showed the talents of all members of this mixed ensemble of strings and wind instruments, with Matt as the sole percussionist.

Matthew displayed his usual calm demeanor while the notes flew on a variety of instruments including the Adams Soloist SV1 vibraphine and Classic Custom 5.0 marimba provided by Pearl and Adams for the event.
