SP-30 SPURS - CONVERTING "RIGHT" SIDE TO "LEFT" SIDE
by Gene Okamoto
When purchased as parts, SP-30 Spurs are packaged as a set with a "right" and "left" side. Sometimes, however, two "rights" or two "lefts" are accidentally shipped. This can be easily remedied as the following tutorial will show. (Download PDF)

CST-80 CYMBAL STACKER - by Raymond Massey
The CST-80 isn't your simple straight rod-type stacker that simply attaches to the tilter with limited or no adjustability. Instead, the Pearl CST-80 is a three-part system that offers complete control of tilt, height, and rotation of the cymbals for amazing adjustability, strength, and functionality. In this edition of Tech Speak, I'll introduce you to the features of the CST-80 and how it attaches. Then we'll move on to all of the neat stuff it can do!(Read more...)

100% MAPLE SHELL
Part of the great sound of the FFX-505N is attributable to its 100% MAPLE shell. Maple produces a different sound than birch-it has a fuller, richer tone, and carries better than birch. HOW TO ADJUST BASS DRUM PEDALS
and OTHER INTERESTING PEDAL STUFF
- by Gene Okamoto
Sometime ago, I received an email from a drummer who asked how to adjust his bass pedal to make it faster. I gave him a quick answer and said to myself, "Hey, this would be a great topic for a Tech Speak article!" So here it is: HOW TO ADJUST BASS DRUM PEDALS and OTHER INTERESTING PEDAL STUFF.

Plain or with Peanuts
Like most things: cars, computers, stereos, and candy bars, pedals come in plain and fancy versions. Generally, the higher the price, the fancier the pedal with more bells and whistles attached. 2) Turn the tension knob on the throwoff clockwise until it stops - the slider will be all the way up. (Read more...)
