Custom MMX 4 ply maple
The classic, natural sound of Masters Custom
MMX can best be described by one word...resonant. Our exclusively
manufactured 4-ply 100% Maple shells produce the perfect
blend of stunning attack, smooth midrange and low end punch
that
has made these drums so popular with top players in every
style of music. With the addition of our MasterCast hoops and
OptiMount
Suspension System, Masters Custom toms and floor toms offer
a new dynamic explosive tone with greater focus and increased
presence. For the ultimate "near-field" acoustic

MMX mounted toms feature MasterCast die
cast hoops for improved attack, focus, and noticeably clearer
definition. Mounted toms also include Pearl's OptiMount Suspension
System featuring four-point mounting for unparalleled stability,
resonance and sustain. MMX mounted toms are available
in standard, alternative, and power depths from 8" to
16" in diameter.
Bass drums feature D-054 claws with
rubber gaskets to protect the beauty of Masters Series hoops.
The tension rod receivers are recessed to prevent accidental
tuning changes and allow snag-proof insertion and removal
from cases. MMX bass drum are offered in 18" to 24" diameters
in standard and power depths.
Three Masters Custom snare drums include
the MMX-1455S (14"x5.5"), MMX-1465S (14"x6.5"),
and MMX-1465SD (14"x6.5" with 20 x CL-100 lugs). All
feature MasterCast die cast hoops, SR-15 Gladstone-type strainer,
and NEW Stainless Steel tension rods with precision-fit brass
tension rod receivers.

I am a drum teacher and a
jazz musician from Sweden. I just want to congratulate
you for making such excellent sounding drums. I have
been a Yamaha player for fifteen years but at last
I found the sound that I always had been looking
for in the Master Custom. I did buy a 14x18, 8x12,
14x14 for general jazz playing and a 16x20, 9x12
for big band gigs. The new floor tom legs has greatly
improved the sustain of the floor tom so now my kit
has a wonderful resonance altogether. I think that
jazz players like me are the most demanding about
their acoustic sound and are the ones who have the
most to gain from the drums.

legacy of our thin shell Masters Custom MMX drums, our 6 ply Masters
Custom MRX offers increased power and superb projection for the prefect
compromise between player and audience. Their warm full bodied tone
offers great sensitivity and sustain for a very "live" sound.
Our MasterCast hoops and OptiMount Suspension System provide MRX
with a more focused, solid and very explosive tom sound, and a wider
tuning range for the prefect compliment to any musical style. Masters

Masters
Studio BRX 6 ply birch
I recently purchased a 6 piece
set of your new BRX Masters Studio Series birch drums
in the antique sunburst finish. I absolutly love them.
I went to the Namm show in Los Angeles and thought
they sounded the best out of all of the other sets
there. I listened to DW, Tama, Sonor, all of them but
I chose the BRX Pearls over all of them.

Mahogany Classic MHX 4 ply mahogany
I was in NYC yesterday and
stopped by the Sam Ash store on 48th to browse and
saw my first set of Masters Mahogany Classic drums.
I was floored!!! The drums sounded incredible. I
only wish I had heard these before I bought my SRX
kit last year! And the finish was just out of this
world. The catalog photos don't come close to showing
how beautiful these drums are. The kick was an 18x22
with nothing inside and it just wailed. What a wonderful
looking and sounding set of drums. Had me thinking
about them all the way back to Chicago and whether
I should try to trade in my kit and get these (but
if I did, I think my family would disown me-only
so much a hobbyist drummer can get away with before
being sent away for shock therapy!!).
